Did you know eating right is a big part of becoming healthy and staying fit? Most of us do know that. However knowing this and actually doing it are two completely different things. The perfect combination to maintaining weight is consistently exercising and consistently eating right.
60% of all Americans eat snack food regularly which causes them to consume about 20% of their daily recommended calories from snacks alone. The majority of us don’t even get in the daily recommended five servings of fruit and vegetables (I know that I personally don’t and I try. I really do!). Snacking could be a great opportunity to get more fruits and veggies into our diets but we just don’t do it. In short, most Americans do not snack wisely.
This week we are tasking our Your Shape challengers to create a healthy snack for themselves each day. We are asking the participants to find and/or create a healthy snack for themselves and perhaps share these snacks with their blog readers plus Twitter followers. Each challenger is being sent a Walmart gift card to shop for healthy snack food for themselves and their families.
Along with exercising with Jenny several times per week, we want the challengers to either pick up some healthy snack eating tips or to share what works for them personally. And we want them to share their discoveries with you!
Check back next Monday where we will highlight some of the best sounding and best looking snacks from this challenge. We will even share some great recipes from our challengers and let you know how the challenge went for each person.

I am on the Take Shape for Life program. I think eating every couple of hours has helped me alot. You are suppose to eat 5 of their prepackaged meals throughout the day beginning with breakfast and you may have one lean and green meal that you choose( from the list of on program foods)anytime. So far, I have lost almost 50 pounds and have tried many, many diet programs in the past that have not worked in the same way that this program has worked. There are heath coaches available as well as a chatroom to help with questions.
